Here is a before picture of Sugar taken on Tuesday evening before giving birth on Wednesday morning. It’s no wonder she was so big with the size of the 7 puppies! Poor girl!! She was a real trooper though!!

Long time since writing!
Lots of water over the dam, but not much of it involving our puppies. Now we’re back with a new litter of precious F1 puppies. Sugar is the mamma, and Hamilton is the handsome chap daddy. I’ll get a picture of Hamilton posted as soon as possible. He is a wonderful, loving, people pleaser who loves attention. His friendly personality, as well as that of our Sugar’s, will be carried over to their puppies.
Sugar started her labor with restlessness, and an ever increasing need for pottying. That meant ever increasing trips outside to the cold!! Tues night was tough for mamma and people alike! As the night wore on, the potty trips were more frequent, so hubby and I took turns, until about 4 am when I decided to simply camp out with Sugar in her bed! I think my presence was comforting to her because her outside trips pretty much ceased. At about that time she also began pushing sporatically. Finally, after 3 hours of progress, our first baby girl arrived, weighing in at 18.1 ounces. That’s over one pound!! I don’t think we’ve ever had any puppies that big! No wonder Sugar had to work!!! The big little girl is a beautiful apricot buff color. She was followed within half an hour by our second girl. A gorgeous white, she weighed 14.9 ounces – oh my, just under a pound! And so on it went, whites, creams, apricots and buffs, three in the 18 ounce range, 3 in the 16 ounce range, and the not-so-little little one at almost 15 ounces, and all girls!! I think mamma is finished, but I’m not totally sure. Time will tell!! Mamma is doing great. She went out to potty and is now back with her babies. She is always such a wonderful mother!
Updates will come as our bundles grow and develop.
Attention!!! Drum Roll!!!! Make welcome the dollies!!!
They sure know where and how to get some dinner! They were born looking like they had already had their fill! We are blessed again with totally beautiful babies. God is good!
